New to the site 92 heritage Edition Z28 convertible

Hey gang. I'm new to the site. I'm waiting for the 5th gen verts to come out before I buy one. As of now I'm the proud owner of a 3rd gen convertible. It is a low mile 57K original. The only non-original/non stock items are a flowmaster muffler and chrome tips and an aftermarket head unit. I found this car outside of Atlanta on Craigslist. After buying the car sight-unseen, I flew to Altanta to drive it back home to WV. The owner had a book made up which included build sheet, factory manifest, original loan paperwork, sales agreement and all of the warantee booklets that came with the car. It also came with blurry Polariods of the car setting in the dealer's showroom and the coolest document.... It came with a picture of the car sitting on the stage with a cake on it during GM's 25th Anniv celebration at the McCormick building in Chicago Feb 1992. The car is fully optioned and even came with red leather interior. I'll post pics. Tell me what ya think. I think I have a keeper.

This is a picture of the Illinios Camaro Club at the 25th Anniv Party in 1992. If you look under the cake you'll see my car on the stage.

Not related but this is what I call my "Show and Tow". It's a 99 Silverado and I use it when I bring both to a car show. I'll tow the camaro then set them both up.

I was invited to display my truck inside at the All Truck Nationals in Carlisle Pa 2008.

WELCOME! You have a keeper for sure! I love 3rd gens! Here is mine. it to is all original with the exception of the Flowmaster exhaust. My father bought it brand new June 2, 1989 and sold it December 23, 1991. I tracked it down on the internet and August 2, 2008 it was in my garage. Found it in the condition you see below! I really lucked out. The only thing I don't have is any paper work. My dad tossed it all years ago.

Take care of it, I bet its a low production # car. Red vert with red leather, 25AE. Cant be many of those! Whats the engine? Mine is a 350 TPI.

I didn't think so. Too much torque they claim, smae with the ttop cars. You could get the 350 with ttop but it was not recomended.

Love the car. Keep it, it'll probably be worth a lot in awhile.

I use to live in Chicago and be in the IL Camaro club and remember that display in Feb. of 1992 at the Chicago Autoshow in the McCormick place. Thanks for sharing it brought back some good memories.

Wow cool. I've tried to contact the Illinios Camaro Club many times with no luck. I thought they might want to have a copy of the picture.

On the IL Camaro site they actually list the event your car was in as part of there history.

http://www.illinoiscamaroclub.net/69301.html

"February, 1992
The club is invited by the Chevrolet Division of GM, to attend a press conference on Friday prior to the opening of the 1992 Chicago Auto Show. We are to help celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Camaro; 35 members attend. We are treated to hors d'oeuvres and Jim Perkins, manager of Chevrolet, speaks to us. We are interviewed for a Chevy Video magazine. Some members are interviewed by WMAQ-TV, channel 5, which is then aired on the 6 p.m. news."

I would try and contact Rory Smith. The tresurer would like the photo for the club records and to share on there site.
