Thumbs down Canucks Orders take BACKSEAT!!!!!

Spent a number of days talking to Oshawa Customer Hotline and the Dealer,I ordered my Camaro ss/rs m6 IOM June 22 and my status is still 1100.I was told that California sells more cars per year than all of Canada, so if California wants 2000 Camaros then they will get them before anyone else.I was told"it is still the same old G.M. and nothing has changed, the Americans take priority over Canada and nothing is going to change that.I understand marketing to a certain extent, but let's be fair,OUR MONEY IS JUST AS GOOD AS THIER's.If you have been waiting a while for your Camaro give Oshawa a call and voice your concerns like I have, the number is 1-800-263-3777 option 5.

Yeah, well we felt the same way when AVIS got tons of cars before us early order guys!

You make a good point - and you are absolutely correct. This is the way it is, this is the way it always has been. But the allocations are much more complex then mere favourtism. Even within the US there is complexities as to which dealers get their allocations first. In from what I understand, GM doesn't write the rules (in that case anyway).
Frustrating - yes. Easy for me to say right? I've had my car since May. BUT, I would recommend that you wait a bit longer before bitching. Normal wait time for a factory order of ANY new vehicle is 6+ weeks. I know, I've had several. This car is in hot demand. You've been waiting 45 days. There and MANY people (both Canadian and American) who have been waiting much MUCH longer for their cars to be produced. And don't get started on those stuck in QC. What I'm saying dude is you're not going to get much love around here when you've been waiting a grand sum of 45 days thus far.

Did you ask your dealer what their allocation situation is? They may be giving you a line. Check other dealers that have cars coming in, there are many. You may be able to have it in a few weeks.

Not really bitter to say, but when I call Oshawa one week and i'm at build status and the next week I don't exist, it get's a little frustrating.I have been viewing this site for a while and have noticed some members that have placed thier orders after mine and already have a vin#.This to me is the unfair part,I am very impatient and excited at the same time,so love is not what I am looking for, I am just seeing if anyone else has the same feelings!!!!OH and for the dealer, the salesman didn't know about the allocation process!

The wait sucks, I ordered mine oct 20/08 and didn't get it till July!
My dealer is also an idiot! They don't know anything about this car!

Back in June I was frustrated due to my original dealer not being honest regarding allocation. I sent 30 emails to every dealer within a 50 mile radius of my home asking if they had allocation for July. Within a day I received several replies from dealers with allocation, one with a order exactly how I had originally ordered my Camaro.

Went to the dealer, bargained hard for two hours to get to MSRP, made a deposit on July 3rd, car delivered on July 22nd.

It can be done if you work at it!
