Angry Low Dyno Numbers

Hey guys, I just went for my first dyno and tune. It's an L99 (got it 05/13/2009) with 12,700 Kms or 7,890 miles My mods are

SLP:

Headers
High flow cats
X-Pipe (3'')
Loudmouth 1 (3'')
Blackwing cai.

My first dyno run was done with Diablosport Trinity's diablo tune and the above mods:

HP: 323 rwhp
Tq: 337 rwt

after custom tune:

HP: 337 rwhp
Tq : 350 rwt

Now why do I have actual stock numbers with all those mods and either tune?
SLP guaranteed 32 rwhp on an L99 with just the headers/no tune...
Forget the fuse pull...
The tuner guy uses the Mustang Dynomometer, which is said to give up to 40-50 hp less than the Dynojet.

I never did a stock dyno run. I'm glad I didn't, because if I would've seen 290-300 rwhp I'd hang myself.
I babied my car and did the ultra soft brake in... is that a sign?

Thanks.

That makes no sense. I hit 350hp with just a CAI and cat-back exhaust.

Those really do sound low for the mods. What kind of dyno?

Im assuming the a/f ratio is good with no knock. Take it to the track. Dyno numbers are nothing but that. Dont read into them too much. Oh and never trust manufacturer hp claims. Ever.

Mine was on a Dynojet. Not sure why there is such a large discrepancy across the two?

So on a dynojet you'd be seeing around 377-387 rwhp. Stock L99's come in around 330, right? So thats a pretty decent gain (~50 hp) for your mods... What were you expecting?

That's why you always want a baseline, so you'll understand what your mods are giving you.

I agree that something is wrong. I have an L99 and went from 326HP to 340HP with just an Airaid CAI mod. My dyno was also done on a Mustang Dynomometer.

Yep A/F ratio was fixed, it was all over the place before the custom tune.

Then dont listen to the "my car made 898983983hp" guys. You wont know if its slow until you take it to the track. Im sure its fine.

Agreed. I'm not really about the number. All I know is that after my tune and Roto-fab CAI, it was night and day. A MUCH better driving experience

Do they have any other L99 Camaros run on that dyno to compare to?
Dynos are like mpgs, yours may vary.

Another good indicator is 1/4 mile mph. If you have any drag strips near you with a street night, see what the trap speed is. A car that is truly low on hp will have a real low trap speed compared to other Camaros.

The other is the buttometer. Does it pull real strong? If so, probably nothing wrong. Not scientific, but low hp cars or those running on the low octane table feel like a dog and its obvious. If it shits and gits, probably nothing wrong.
