how to get best 0-60MPH on L99

Hi

i dont have much experience in racing cars. so i was just wondering how you can get the best times on a stock 2SS? traction and stability all off? Use S or manual? if manual how to shift? do I floor the gas from the beginning? does temperature have a big impact here? etc.etc..

I would really appreciate if someone can help me cuz now im getting around 6 sec which is ridiculous.

thx

I've been racing cars and bikes for years so I have some experience, for what it's worth I've been playing with my stock 2SS/RS L99 and have found that my best 0-60's have been with trac/ctrl of, starting in 1st with a slight brake torque to get rpm's slightly up, right after launch 1st-second shift must be fairly quick, these damn transmission take so long to shift you'lle hit the rev limiter way to fast.

emm this is interesting. I will try it as soon as i get a chance. Right now if I start in M1, then the tires would slip for the entire gear. your method sounds good, it may limit that slip.

thx

You are actually better of loading the car up just a tad with the car in M/Sport Mode and do not use the tap shifts. The computer will out run tapshifting.

I've found the launch is much stronger in M1 as long as you don't mash the pedal to the floor and smoke em up, mine seems to do a real good hole shot around 3/4 throttle, but the 1St-2ND shift with tap shift takes a bit of practice, it's so slow. Too bad you can't take off in M1 without tap shift

you should be able to take off in M (sport mode) without tap shift. Just don't touch the tap shift buttons and it will shift like a normal automatic, except with the different shift pettern(ie. sport mode). if you touch any tap button, then it is in manual shift mode and to get it back to sport mode, you have to shift back to D and then back to M again. also if you start off in D you start in 2nd gear, i M you start off in 1st gear.

I'm quite sure that in M or S you start off in 2nd gear also. unless you manually tap shift it to M1 then its all in your hands

NO, you always start in FIRST --- unless you touch the tap button. Just pull it from neutral to M and leave it, so it shifts by itself. You'll start in first and downshift to first at a stop ---- UNTIL you touch a tap button!

Gold Bowtie is right about when it will start in 1st or 2nd gear. I also agree that you can get the exact same launch in M (Sport) and M (Manual). Only D-mode will be slower.
