Pretty much. Electric cars have also historically prioritized aerodynamics in order to eek out every last mile from the battery. That leads to odd shapes and design choices.

Same. I know Takata went into bankruptcy and then purchased by a Chinese supplier because of course they were. It's going to cost GM 1/3 of its' net income this year.

When all this defective airbag stuff started I decided it was time to wear eye protection whenever I drive my vehicles equipped with such. Facial lacerations and even broken bones can heal. Lose your eyesight, big trouble.

Pretty sure Camaros don't have the bad Takata bags but I'm sure the people that were injured/killed by them were unaware of any defects. I would think even proper functioning airbags could possibly damage your eyes with propellant or other airborne debris. Maybe I'm overdoing it a bit but I'm one of those people that always wears safety glasses at work and when I'm wrenching on my vehicles. I've even got some with cheater 2.0 for close-up detail work.

What are the chances that the lesser trims don't get any interior refresh? I'm starting to wonder if this will be a Denali/High Country only deal.

I doubt that will happen. I do wonder if the Denali/High Country will get their own interior design a la Yukon Denali but I'm fairly confident the lower trims will still have a redesign.
