Order Status Question/s
Very nice and well informed site you guys/gals have here. Impressed.
I had my Camaro order entered in the system yesterday by a Autonation dealer, one I've used for many years. I was told that now the order could not be changed when entered. Does this mean GM has accepted my order for production? I have been told that I was 2nd on the order list, and the salesmen said he was entering my order, and # 1's[Both are 2SS RS-hers is yellow, mine Silver]. Should there now be an order # available for me, and, if so, how can I use that to track my order status? My dealer hasn't really been that well informed- I guess it's not often that new cars are ordered/sold like this. And Autonation is not your typical dealership owner, having many dealerships across the land. Apparently one person enters orders for all of their dealers. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. I can not wait for delivery!! Atleast I have an 08 SS Impala [Black] to ride around in til the Camaro takes its place in the garage--next to the Harley!! |

Hey, Jeff, welcome to the site! Even though the order was submitted from a central location, that person should be able to fax your dealer a copy of the order, called Order Workbench, which will contain the 6 character alpha/numeric order number. The only way to track the order is through the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center at 800-222-1020 or your dealer. Accepted or pulled for production is the point at which changes are no longer possible, but that's not likely to have occured yet. You should still be able to make changes. You may have to "apply pressure" on your dealer if you decide you want to make a change. Hope this helps.

camaro order
I ordered a Camaro LS 2 months from a Chevy dealer and just found out that they still have not gotten a order # from the manufacture. Does that mean I'd have to wait for a few more months? Is there anything I can do? Thanks.

Order Changes
I am sitting at 3000 with a TPW of 8/24/09. Is it to late to have my dealership make a change to my interior color?

Order number should be created right away when the dealer submits it to GM - regardless of allocation. Lots of info on here regarding this topic. Keep playing with the search feature and check the stickies for ordering and tracking.

67 Convertible,
On your signature it says your order was placed on 4/24/09 and as of 7/1/09 it is home? Did it only take you 2 months from order to arrive? If so, how have everyone elses orders been going? I ordered mine (2LT, RS, Ground Effects, Stripes) mid-August. I've been hearing 4 months, 6 months, 8 months. Am curious to get an actual realistic timeframe? Thanks!!! |

Thanks!!!
67.... What allocation number were you put into at your dealership when you first ordered? And how many allocations were they taking each month? My dealer told me that I have been submitted to GM, however, they have placed me in allocation number 7. I asked if I'd really been submitted or just pending at the dealership, and he told me that GM has been notified, however, obviously I have 6 more of their allocations to go into production before mine. Should I take this as pretty good or bad news? |

i was no. 3 when i placed my order and it took roughly a month before GM got me to 2000
depends on how much allocations your dealer gets next time allocation rolls around

Every Tuesday, the regional GM rep pulls orders for allocation. You could check with other dealers in the area and see if you have better luck elsewhere. |
