i did that a few times years ago.now i just run it thru a touchless car wash in the winter.

Optimum No Rinse in a bucket of warm water is awesome for cold winters.

i feel you, but the winter roads are just way to dirty to hand wash a car IMO. you probably worked hard and like a day or two it will need it again

Warm water in the wash and rinse bucket helps...Luckily in FL we don't get that much cold weather but occasionally ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

I actually had suds freeze to my car last year . . . . there's a fine line between cleaning and causing swirls trying to clean it with sub-optimal conditions. Don't think I'll be doing that again this year.
