How to get rid of the sound enhancer thing??

So tonight I installed the K&N Filter and Mishimoto Catch can as the 1st 2 additions...

When I was working under the hood, I noticed that long sound enhancer thing. I removed it in my last car (2016 GT) and it was a PITA, but there were lots of aftermarket options for capping the intake hose and firewall. The "kits" were like $10. Does anyone make something similar for our SS's?

You have my attention. I also be getting rid of the "sound tube". I'm not much for engine noise pumped in through the stereo or through a tube from the air box. These cars a complicated enough without adding this garbage to the mix.

Mishimoto made one for my 2016 Subaru STI I really wish there was a clean option for our SS.

A couple of the other CAI vendors have an option for deleting the sound tube. Check with them to see if they sell a kit separately. Also, have you checked with Mishimoto?

I think you're referring to the Helmholtz resonators. They're in place to kill drone on your intake.
When I put my first CAI on my 2010 SS I started to notice drone at certain frequencies coming from the front.. kind of weirded me out at first until I realized what was causing it.
A decent CAI is worth it anyway.. No downside.

He's referring to the tube that channels intake noise to the firewall. The Rotofab cai has an option to keep it or not. If not, it includes a plate to seal off the hole in the firewall. That's what the other poster was referring to, a "kit" to seal the hole.

I am not an expert on CAIs, but the Roto-Fab CAI was engineered to have the sound tube delete as the stock box was engineered to have the tube in place.

You may want to check with a higher authority before just removing the tube and plugging the ends. There is no kit available that I am aware of.

nothing. My sound tube delete is a 5/8 heater plug sillyconed into the hole with a clamp.

All you need is a simple rubber plug you could buy at the hardware store and MAYBE a hose clamp.

My Mishimoto CAI came with a much more sexy metal plug.

Ok, so basically, I can surely remove the entire thing - and then the only parts I need to address are capping the hole left in the intake tube, and plugging the hole in the firewall?
