I am glad to see the Camaro drop in popularity, maybe if it drops enough the price will go down where my broke ass can afford one, cuz I still would by the Camaro 5 to 1 over the Chuda and 10 to 1 over a Mootang.

The prices I was quoting are 1SS and 2SS with zero added options. Where they get you is with their packages. You can't just go and order specific options anymore it's all part of a package. So that $150 option you want isn't $150 because it's part of a $4,000 package that you have to purchase of you want that one option. So the prices I quoted are accurate, but rare. They were simply to prove a point.

Ya I know...I just cringe when my American brothers call something expensive...when compared to what I pay its cheap.

Since opinions are like (well you know) and we all have one, here's mine...

Absolutely LOVE the Gen 5's and had a Bad Ass Procharged 10 2SS/RS the last few years. I wanted to go from a A6 to a M6 and finally decided to do it. I also decided I would not be buying a Gen 6 based purely on the looks. Different Strokes for Different Folks and I prefer the looks of a Gen 5 over the Gen 6 so I bought a 12 ZL1 M6. Best Auto move I ever made in my life

I did also look at the Hellcat Challengers and very much like them, but I'm not paying 80K for a new weekend fun car nor 50K+ for a used one. So instead I bought a big HP ZL1 that can keep up or kick both their asses (for dam near half the price of a used Hellcat).

"SO FOR ME" (a Gen 5 Camaro & Chevy Lover), I would rather switch to a Challenger or buy another Gen 5 over buying a Gen 6 Camaro (again that is based solely on the looks and it's simply "my opinion"). SO.... if I was a New Car Buyer I can easily see why someone would choose the Challenger over the Gen 6 Camaro. Personally I dont like the look of the Gen 6 Stang so thats not a choice for me either way, although the technology and price is very temping.

First off let me say that I own a 14 SS and consider myself a GM guy. Even thought I am still biter that they killed off the Firebird/Trans Am. The 5th generation had great styling which is why it sold like it did.
I must be the only guy here that thinks the Challenger is a nice looking car plus it is a little more roomier inside. I really like the refresh they did in 14.
If I had to buy a car today factoring money and everything else I would go with a B5 Blue 392 Scat Pack Shaker. The car is a beast and its design screams american muscle. Curious to see how much longer Dodge will milk this platform and what the next generation of the Challenger will look like.
As far as the Camaro I don't like the 19 SS. It just doesn't appeal to me. That front bumper and the placement of the bow tie look awful.

Totally agree with you, I'm age 60. Why I fell in love with the gen 5 to begin with, the factory chopped roof appearance. No other mass produced American car in 2010, or even today has the low roof appearance of the 2010 and forward Camaro. And I prefer the Gen 5 to gen 6 by a large margin. Who designs AC center vents blowing at the shifter? And a totally useless back seat/leg room? Not even small children.

Late model Hemi Challenger is a fat overweight girl. Too many Twinkees

The 6th gen Camaro is a great variant. Its problem is lack of promotion, pricing, and perhaps some alienation with its new face. Even before the facelift, the 6th generation struggled in sales.

I agree with some of the earlier posts, in that Chevrolet has to get cracking on better promoting the Camaro. Just look at some of the Challenger themes and its not a wonder why its popular: Hellcat, Demon, Redeye. While these Challengers are not volume sellers, they succeeded in catching the attention of most new car buyers. Chevrolet doesn't necessarily have to create an 800 hp monster to go toe to toe with Challenger, but at the same time it will need to come up with some themes that will catch the eye of potential shoppers. Chevy will need to work on their pricing as well.

I think that the Challenger is the best looking of the 3 muscle cars. Would have bought one if they made a vert.

That- but mainly the difference in currency exchange rate. We are only about $0.75 of a U.S dollar currently.

Nope you aren''t alone that nice blue in a SRT On another note in reference to the chopped roof thing. I think that looks good on the Gen 5 since it is a modern-retro design. The Gen 6 is a more modern design so the retro roof thing doesn't belong with it to me. And then that quirky looking side rear window is another issue for me as well. That said the look of the Gen 6 has really grown on me including the 19 update but that refresh seems to be more affected by the colour of the car than anything. Some colours it looks very good (black or white) others say blue or whatever not so much.
