Pull air, this intake does not pull any air, and what air it gets comes from the front, there is a 1"x5" opening on the drivers side next to the headlights that's where it gets all the air from, not much if you ask me,

Anybody thought about adding the scoop to this intake and re-locating the washer fluid bottle? Maybe it will free up some HP?

Question...Is the MAF tube diameter and MAF placement identical to that of a ZL1 or a SS?

Has anyone checked STRIM/LTRIMs to make sure it's the same as factory?

This setup with a highflow K&N or Green conical filter (same dimensions as OEM) would be a nice alternative to some of the aftermarket setups.

Yep, it looks stock so if a cop asks you to open the hood, unless he really knows the car you can pull it off.

Not taking as gospel, but Hennessey is good with it.
Sooner or later someone will test it.

Just got my intake today. Hey cdb95z28 I like the way you did your setup. Any extra tip or pointers you can give for the install. Thanks

I guess not any more than what I mentioned on post #23. Look for the parts I had links to. Your sig does not mention what year Camaro you have. With mine being a 1LE, I have the oil separator in place of the oil fill cap, so that will change how you hook up the line. It won't look exact. The install instructions are pretty straightforward, and it's a simple mod.

One thing I looked at after removing my front bumper cover last weekend for the Z/28 brake ducts was how the Z/28 CAI gets the air. Looking at the front of the radiator there is a plastic baffle on the right:

The following pic is looking from the top of the baffle and down behind it. The Z/28 CAI is getting cool air from in front/beside the radiator. It does not take air like other aftermarket intakes. I contemplated removing this baffle for a possible small ram air effect, but at the risk of some water arriving at the filter in a heavy rain, I decided against it:

Here is a pic with a flashlight at the mouth of the intake. Other than the baffle, a good shot of cool air will arrive at the mouth. It comes with some foam edging to seal it up at the opening:

So to some,on the surface the Z/28 CAI looks like it might be inferior to other aftermarket CAIs, but I think it is not going to give up much power to the others, and from the design it may be atleast as good once the vehicle is at speed.

The first deciding factor going with this intake was ,it's oem. That's what sold me. I did do my research on other intake setups, But I rather have oem. That's just me.
Installation was a breeze. Took about 20 minutes remove and replace. The breather hose held me up a bit. I went the fuel line part 800-059 that cdb95z28 used. I couldn't use the whole part like he did because I was keeping the engine cover. In the pic you will be able to see.

Was reviewing the the Z28 parts listing an for the CAI it has a part that attaches to the hood to close out the top of the box, for those people that installed it on their non-Zs did you use the cover that attaches to the hood an how does it attach???

On a non-Z/28, the normal hood liner WILL seal up the Z/28 CAI. I put some water on the seal of the intake and closed the hood. Reopened hood and the wetness completely transfered to the hood.

That small liner piece (part # 22966600, restricted part) is used on the Z/28 as the large fullsize liner is not used at all. They made the small one to seal the CAI.
