Homelink Harness

I purchased a used homelink unit and am looking for a harness to power it. It has some sort of blade style connector on it. Anyone know where I can get one relatively cheap? Anyone parting out a car?

Gen5diy has one, but I'd rather not spend 40 bucks on something that simple.

I suggest to use same electical clips, it should only be a hot and ground wire to power the unit.

The OEM homelink is wired to constant 12 volts, I rewired mine and tapped it into the sunroof power. That way it only has power when the ignition is on. Did this on my Suburban, Tahoe and Silverado as well. That way if someone happens to break into one of my vehicles when I'm not home, the can't open the garage door.

Just something to think about.

Ironic, I put mine in today. I just swapped out the overhead console with the replacement console, it came with the entire wiring harness. Worked perfectly, and programed it for my garage. If you bought the entire console, it only takes a few minutes to swap it out.

Check this thread out Darth Martel made me one that I never used. I just tried to hunt it down, damn, nowhere to be found. It's basically a harness that goes over the 3 connectors in the pic above. The other side is open, just + and - (red and black). You can do this yourself though, just read the thread above. Not sure if Darth is still making them, last time I checked he sold his 5th gen, but he is still active on the site. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/member.php?u=10046

If its typical GM its:

Pin A: 12 volts
Pin B: Illumination
Pin C: Ground

Pin B would be unused.

I have the 2 wire harness with the plug I got from Darth Martel. In fact I have the whole overhead console black with GDO buttons and the 2 wire harness with plug, to splice into positive and negative wires. No sunroof buttons in the overhead console.

Stantmann sold me a spare one he had, Thanks man!

I painted the one I had that was pulled from a salvage car that was a bit faded. I haven't spliced into the wires yet, but I did test out the harness and homelink module. Work flawlessly.

Now I have to figure out what's hot and what's ground in the '14 mirror.

Smile Home link

The wire harness is available from Gen5DIY
The power is on the left, ground on right, nothing goes in the middle, harness goes to fuse block, nice set up, worth the price. The overhead console with wires is the way to go, but hard to find, because most salvage yards cut the wires:
