How to get 40-50 more horsepoweR??

I am now in California and have a l99 with 22s on. I have had my resonator deleted as well as had a k&n intake installed. I wanna get about 50 more horsepower, so how would I go about getting this done? What do you guys think these small mods have done for my SS with the 22s on?

Longtube headers w/ High flow Cats + Tune

You'll achieve your goal easy maybe even a little more.

Hope that helps.

Any brands that I should opt for? How much do you think I will end up spending for the stuff and the installation?

You are dead on, but they are in CA and they very strict on emissions. They may need to speak with some local performance shops in the CA area to see what can be done legally there.

If you now live in CA they may not pass your vehicle inspection. They are very strict in CA so I would get with a speed shop there and ask them what can be done legally to get you up to that power band and will also pass inspection.

I'd sell the 22's. Find a catback that has no drone with the L99 AFM, and call it good.

Th 22's are going to kill any small hp bumps from bolts ons. The inspection thing may put a wrench in LT's and tuning.

I have headers and I live in Cali. Best thing is to ask around at small hole in the wall smog shops. Trust me, you will find someone willing to pass you for 50 bucks. Been doing it for years on my vehicles. I've even got away with not saying anything and still passing smog. Most smog techs are young kids that have no idea what is supposed to be there and what isn't. I say go for headers. Don't let the government decide what to put on your car.

Legally, you can't put on long tube headers or even touch the cats here in California unless it's CARB certified...but that's only if you want to follow the rules...

Depending on the weight of the wheels, they are probably worth about -30hp. I know the factory 21'' wheels will slow you down by about .2 or so in the 1/4 mile (maybe more).
So he'll probably need intake, headers, and a tune just to keep up with a well tuned L99 (running the factory 20'').

If he's serious about performance, he'll definately need another set of wheels for the track/drag strip. And if he wants the best performance possible on the street, he should think about getting some smaller/lighter wheels.

There are lots of Smog shops in my hometown (Lodi,CA) that would pass cars without cats or mufflers, just have to know where to go.

You can't legally put long tubes on in Cali.
You could do an intake and cam, have the heads touched up, a performance tune, have your intake ported, shorty's although I really dont know how much power they will add over the stock manifolds.
