does anyone know what the silver box next to the fuse box is? It has fins on it and 2 cables are connected. Looks like a voltage regulator. Im dumb about that stuff but anyhoo it has 2 clips on top and one on bottom to hold it and the 2 clips on top wont stay in.

I put the fuses back in today (about 21 hours after I took them out). I will say that I never believed I had a slow 99 and the fuse pull may have let me know that I was right. I really didn't see a big difference in performance. Maybe it is because it is so hot out here in Los Angeles right now. At least hot for So California (around 100 degrees). I will say that my tires did seem to skid more than usual at take off. I do think that I should have gotten some times before I did the fuse pull so I can really make a decision on if it helped or not.

that looks like your engine's computer. ECU, PCM or whatever it's called.

hi guys , I tried this on my LS3 and it worked perfectly, i had a slight miss in the engine since i picked it up, and i felt the response was a little sluglish going into 3rd gear, but i have to say i pulled the fuses and let it sit overnight and i really noticed a difference and the miss is totally gone. thanks for the EZ fix.

everyone seems to pull their fuses overnight, but does anyone actually know how long it takes for the ecm to reset?

I pulled mine for 4 hours and didn't feel any improvement. Or maybe mine was okay to begin with so I am not noticing any improvement. But worth another try. I will leave them off overnight and see if anything changes.

I ran across this thread about 2 hrs ago and spent the last hour reading all the posts. I went in the garage and pulled the fuses. We will know tomorrow. I had posted days ago if anyone else had a sluggish car with rough idle and poor overall mpg, I thought it was mostly due to erratic driving and lots of around town starts and stops. Cant wait to see if there are improved results. Let you know tuesday night.
