Morning guys. Well I did this cable mod yesterday, and I think it seems to have made the starting under heated conditions better, but every time I parked the car and was away from it, it had cooled down a lot. Was away for at least 30 mins or more, so it wasn't heat soaked. The main thing I did notice is that on my Aeroforce gauge that shows my battery voltage, when cruising around at speed it used to stay right around 14.4 to 14.6 sometimes 14.7, but after the cable install now it shows 14.8 to 15.0,15.1 most of the time. So I really haven't had much time to check it out, but it does seem to have made the car start easier. Thanks..

Guys, I did it in the trunk, where camguynj showed. I have another one in my parts room in case it needs it too.

Well I took Ruby out for a little cruising today, and upon the cold start she lit off a whole lot quicker that she usually does. That was nice, and driving around still the voltage stayed around 14.8 to 15.0 like I said it was doing which is a tad higher than what it used to show without the extra ground. So I'm taking it that now the battery is charging a bit better than is was without it. Also it recovers quicker after the startup now. I stopped a few times along the way and didn't stay as long as I did yesterday so I could get a decent heat soak in the starter to check it, and she started up just fine with no evident draw down as before. So I am thinking this one is a win. Of course now it isn't summer time anymore and 95 degrees out so the heat generated isn't as high as it was, but I'm satisfied with the mod...

I picked up a 4 GA and 6 Ga from auto zone, I figured I would put the Bigger 4GA under the car and if needed the 6 GA in the trunk. It was about $14.00 A lot better then what some places are trying to get for it.

So I used a 4 gauge 19" cable from Autozone from Body Bolt to the Tranny where the fluid line bolts to the tranny, I used the bolt that holds the line to the tranny. I only started it up twice as I was checking the car after installing the headers. The car is not going out until after winter, So I don't know how heat soak will go but it did seem to start stronger cold. I have a 6 Ga for the trunk Battery but I'll hold off and see how this one does.

Thought I would go ahead and add a secondary ground, in the trunk, as well.
2 gauge heavy copper stranded with decent copper ends. Cost - $0
Little things to mess around with, while we wait out winter.
