V6 noise on hard acceleration

So I just recently got this car 3 weeks ago and I love it. I have noticed tho that under hard acceleration from first through second and a little quieter into third the car has a rattle sound coming from near the motor. It almost sounds like the timing is too advanced. Has anyone else experienced this?
During normal driving you can't hear any rattle or knock, she purrs real nice.

nah its the stock intake air box. Although whoever owned the car before me did a number on it and some of the brackets are broken:/

If your original owner hurriedly replaced some stock parts, it could well be the source of the rattle.
But be aware the fuel injection on these direct injection cars is under much higher pressure that before, and will cause a sound similar to a rattle under hard acceleration.

so it could just be a noise resulting from the direct injection?

I work in Rochester (Henrietta) if you want to compare to what mine sounds like, but then again I have an intake and exhaust that would make it sound different anyway. If someone put stock parts back on in a rush and you are missing something let me know, I have stock parts laying around the garage - you could have whatever you are missing.

Also, you might want to check out UpstateC5 in the regional forums;

Good club, good people, no dues or B.S., you do what you want. Lots of fun stuff though, my favorite are the events that include laps at Watkins Glen.

Either way, nice to see another one in Rochester.

My dealer snapped the oil filter gasket, when performing maintainance on my '12 1LS. Which caused loss of oil onto my timing belt, which in turn caused the tensioner to allow the belt to slip out of timing, and sounded like a rattling sound almost like a loose heatshield. It also gave off a burning oil smell from falling to the exhaust. After all was "fixed, and ok" came home today, 2 days later, and there is something leaking onto the ground under my front end.Anyway, i would make sure that oil filter isnt leaking.

Engines will move on it's motor mounts under hard acceleration perhaps a metal piece is vibrating against something else.

Thanks for the replies guys... its almost Rpm variable. Maybe it is just the direct injection. Flashpoint I would be in for listening to yours for a comparison. Good to see another ROC native

So update... I was coming home from dinner with the girl tonight and decided to step on the throttle pretty good. First time I've brought the car close to redline since I've owned it. I merged onto the highway and stepped on it. After I left off and cam to a stop at the next light everything was fine, but when I stepped on the gas the ticking was much more noticeable, def louder. I drove around slow for a little and quieted down but now I can here it in neutral at 1300-1500 rpm.
Any ideas?

Edit: drive-ability doesn't seem affected. No rough idle either.

By the way the ticking can be heard inside the car with the doors closed and windows up... Kinda hoping this is the normal v6 DI ticking but idk. Hope I didn't break anything.

I'm sticking with that DI ticking theory too.

Sometimes if an injector get's a bit dirty it can be louder. Try running some fuel injector cleaner thru the next couple of tanks of gas.
