Definately some special consideration should be shown to those that have ordered early! I agree that there is no way later ordered cars should be built ahead of those that ordered early, just because of allocation. Isn't that why we all went down to our dealerships in Oct and ordered right away.......so we could get one ASAP!!

I say yes but like another poster said they've already got us and are probably going to mix it up pretty good in order to get anyone else they can. Probably good business sense but still very upsetting. I'm impatient and torqued and I haven't been waiting near as long as most of you on these boards so I can't even imagine how you are feeling. I guess we wait

Along with this............they need to get what's left of the 3000 cars that have had to go through Pontiac fixed and shipped out too............it's ridiculous that VINs in the 6000s are being delivered and first week cars are still sitting there.
I know they are doing everything they can to get them to us as fast as they can, but you've got 33% of your current total build having to go through who knows how many checks for who knows how many problems that nobody will confirm. Oh, and they aren't fixing those cars in order either. They can fix one and ship it to Arizona, California or Florida, but they can't send one to NJ........... Sorry for jacking the thread............please continue.

Plus, my print had the wrong name on it. At least you are > 3000. I ordered 185 days ago and am not even at 3000, dealer said it would be 5/9 before I moved to 3000 |

I wouldn't place alot of stock in what your dealer says. Not your dealers fault just unorganized info from GM. We've seen cars delivered and owners take posesion of their cars while still showing 3800 at their dealer. We've also seen people go from 4800 back to 3800 in the system.

If GM thought things through they wouldn't be in this economic mess to begin with.
I don't mind waiting for those who ordered before me. It's only fair. I had a dealer tell me that they were submitting orders based on who they were in contact with the most. Their logic was people were ordering all over town and the figured if someone wasn't staying on top of them, they had other means of getting their car. Needless to say they didn't get my business. When I was looking at the GT-R, I had dealers with "orders" in who were falsifying the paperwork so they could jack up the price $30,000-$40,000. The same thing is going on with the ZR-1. They were having other salesmen as the "buyers" then they would drop the order so the dealer would have one in stock. I saw 6 GT-R's on one lot. Hell, there are 2 ZR-1's just down the road from me. Greed is the reason for the delay. That and a garbage business plan.

The reason i haven't ordered yet is because they are not necessarily doing this... if i had confirmation that my car would be made after the preorders were cleared, i would go ahead and order. I need the delay... but unfortunately this production is so sporadic, and there's no way to plan when my camaro arrives... so I'm just going to have to order once I'm ready, and wait.
