I am just wondering if some people are putting some paint protection products on their cars before the paint has had time to cure well and that may make the paint more susceptible to chipping... I was told not to wax a paint job for at least 6 months to let the paint cure. Maybe water based paints take longer... Just throwing that out there because I haven't had the problems others have.

My paints is still soft. Chips are non existent which is interesting because everyone seems to have chips. Kinda proves my point the paint is too soft.

I'd rate it as:
Too thin. Insufficient petroleum used in the paint process. Too much H2O in the paint. |

Some chips and whatnot shouldn't be that big of a deal really.. just means she ain't some prissy garage queen and she actually gets driven.

"The paint job that's so bad, kia feels insulted."
Had it for one year, almost to the day. 3 season driven. Probably 7-12 chips on the bumper which isn't too bad. Can hardly see them. The problem is my front gfx though.. sand blasted by chips. Guessing, 30-50. Love the colors though. lol. |
