In 1965 the Caprice was a midyear option package on the Impala 4 door Hardtop(they called a Sport Sedan). My dad had one of the first ones. In 1966 it became it’s own model with both a Coupe and 4 door hardtop.

To my knowledge there never was a Caprice convertible. I did own a 1966 Impala SS vert with a 396 and TurboHydro.

Yes, but not in the 60's. The Caprice hardtop back then had a noticeable different roof line, interior upholstery was unique, as well as the center operating instrument console had the addition of of a MAP gauge, and the clock was in a pod at the center atop of the dash. Also, the rear tail lights had a chrome grid over them. However, not to say there wasn't a COPO out there somewhere.

Nice truck. Hope he doesn't have issues with the torque converter in the 8 speed...that's the only issue with the truck at this time....which is a shame. Otherwise awesome truck in my opinion. Maybe the 2018s will have more luck?

Really enjoying my 15 Colorado crew V6.

Saw that. Not sure what we can see exactly lines up with GMC design, but that's the point of the camo.
