They were probably making the shafts on May 5 - Cinco de Mayo.

Congrats man...that's awesome. Gives hope to those of us with mods on our under 25K VIN. Guess I'll go try to break my output shaft now. LOL

Ok so under oath GM states they have a list of vin numbers that have this defective part in costumers transmissions. Did GM correct the condition of these units? My camaro is within the vin range does anyone have a copy of this so called vin list?..
To the people already denied warrenty and lost money for this fix can you go this route?

Before my hearing started, I was watching the GM rep. He had the letter that I had sent them and he was making notes beside each of the questions. I'm pretty sure that he made it all up, basically on the fly. I do not believe GM has a list of VIN numbers.

The problem was identified and fixed ~mid-July, 2009, if you have a car built before that, then there is a chance you have an inferior shaft. But, you won't know it until it breaks.

That's why I've been trying to get folks to check their trans tags. There is a good chance we will find a trend if we can get enough data.

For those who got denied and didn't dispute it through the BBB, it's probably too late. These cars come with a warranty booklet and the procedure to dispute a warranty decision is clearly outlined in it.
