Can a one piece drive shaft be used with the kit? Will you be offering a one piece instead of the two piece driveshaft as an option?

Hey I'll jump first. Have Ryan email me when you will have one ready, for CC number.
Graham said there might be a 3.90 option? That would be too cool!!

We began discussions with the manufacturer back in 2009; there was no other version in the marketplace back then. There were many options that were discussed, finally the concept was to use the 9.5" ring and pinion set and make a complete easy to install assembly that required no modification to the vehicle. The billet prototype of this housing has been in our LS9 development car since April, mostly, accept for the times we removed it to allow the manufacturer to inspect the components. Despite the 1350+ rwtq the car has there have been no issues discovered during this year. The car also ran with a modified "stock" prop shaft, the mod was a "U" joint in the rear to couple to the new yoke, the issue that we had with this set up was a twisting of the center spline. This did not cause any failure, per se; it just did not like sliding any more. So the package includes a heavy-duty prop shaft. The Driveshaft shop half shafts have performed sterling work throughout the year, despite side stepping the clutch at up to 4500 rpm with sticky tyres and a 4100 lb car.

Nice work!

Not to get way off track, but did LPE find failure of the OEM rear end or driveshaft (not CVs) at a certain power level and/or gear and tires combination? I know the 4:10s have higher breakage and diff case was maxed out to 3:70's safely (hence the 9" rear end). Just wondering at what point new setup becomes a no brainer.

I currently have DSS 1400 HP axles and LPE 3.70 gears and Janetty posi fix.

Thanks

Never failed stock rear with stock or 3.70 gears, seen stock halfshafts fail on 650 cars, failed 4.10 gear set in stock housing at 800 lbft. No issues with the 9.489" (241mm) at 1350 lbft.

You need to add a carrier to that price for the 9" ford - about another $1400.00 or so to complete the setup..

I wonder if this center section would make it into any CTS-V's? I know this is a NEW product....and is designed for the camaro....but those CTS guys are hurting for a REAL rear end...this center section could be the answer...
What do you guys think?

Will another companies one piece driveshaft work with the differential?
