We sell allot of our Dynotech shafts, a super smooth shaft with a 900hp rating.
They are also the lightest shafts on the market, we don't use a heavy cv joint on the front of the shaft which makes them about 5 lbs lighter.
Give us a call if you have any questions.

Thanks
Chris

If you're hooking hard enough to break the DS you're going to need axles as well. They "should" break before your DS does. I'm not saying that it wouldn't be good to have one but without knowing what mods you have, it's hard to say if you absolutely need one now. On a M6, wheel hop is what KILLS your driveline. That $650 could be spent on LCA's, bushings, or other suspension that will help minimize wheel hop. A DS isn't going to eliminate wheel hop, so it's still going to be hard on the driveline and a hindrance to your launches.

I ordered the DSS driveshaft today. Next I will do the axles. Just need to figure out who's axles.

Hard to say if you would actually get any gain from it. Mostly you would get peace of mind! However you do lose some rotational mass which would be beneficial.
If you look at Doc's build, he did a before and after and dynoed around 8 hp more with the DSS carbon fiber shaft.
So I'm curious to whether or not you get any performance gain too? If it gives you even .05 gain it would be cool, Bc most people aren't buying them as a performance bolt on gain in mind. Instead they are buying them for a great improvement in driveline quality and durability.

Just email or call Dynotech like I did and get the scoop from them instead of a competitor about their shaft design. They are not going to design and sell a shaft that is unsafe.

At 650+ a cam will already be in the mix.

Probably not much difference either way at lower HP levels and rpms under 7000.
The DSS seems to be more popular from what I've seen on the forum and at the track, Bc it can probably withstand more power and maintain better balance at higher rpms due to its design.

I think it's fine to ask both Dynotech and DSS Their opinion and come up with your own conclusion. My opinion is DSS is top of the line. I've never heard 1 bad comment about them.
I can't say that for G force. I have heard of issues.

I was hoping GForce would chime in. I doubt I'll see above 7000 on an auto after a cam swap in the spring, but they only balance to 7000rpm. Interesting note...kudos to DSS here. My buddy just bought a DSS shaft for his 2011 GT...hands on look at it was impressive.

The 3.5" aluminum Dynotech shaft is high speed balanced to 8000 from my personal conversation with a tech there. If Shelby thinks these shafts are good enough for their builds they must be pretty efficient and dependable. I personally have not seen any posts on here about a failure of a Dynotech shaft in a camaro yet. Is it safe to use on an 8 sec car? Probably not. Honestly how many are driving around on the street every day in an 8 sec car?

We use DSS for all of our cars and for our customers, including the only three 8 second GTOs ,the fith gen recordholder as well as the g8 record holder. You may not be out for a record but you will have the same shaft thats proven. Since your buddy is a mustang guy i would bet he selected the DSS shaft because of all the problems with other shafts in the mustang. If we can help you with a great price on the DSS shaft let us know.
