I know you have trouble keeping up, but nobody ever compared the GT to the ZL1 on a road course. The GT is only .5 seconds slower that a ZL1 in the 1/4 mile bone stock... with a tune its damn near a drivers race.
And bone stock it beats the $65,000 GT350R. Which further proves that there is nothing in the ZL1's price range, cheaper, or even $20K more expensive that can beat the ZL1 at anything except for the Z06.

You did it wrong. You're supposed to use the best modded A10 GT run with a pro driver in the best possible conditions against the worst bone stock M6 trans ZL1 run with an average driver in horrible conditions. Ricer...err, Mustang math.

A full second in the 1/4 = 4 car lengths. Basically, a beat down .

We only use certified magazine testing here dude, not some guy who ran in -2000da with a “stock” ZL1

11.9 GT Vs 11.4 ZL1

SS somewhere back in the low 12’s

And sure, their resale value might be higher, but they cost more up front. Their depreciation rate would have to be really low to offset some of that cost difference.
It depends on the crowd. Having been in the Audi, BMW world for the most part for the last 5 years or so, that is not always true.

You look on the forums of those cars and there is a lot of fan boys and elitists who care more about prestige and image over performance and function.

I am a performance car guy first, I will go after whatever is killing it and the car that has the whole package, regardless of manufacture. Right now, that is not BMW or Audi (san the TTRS, which I almost choose over the SS 1LE)

If I had to pay full MSRP for the SS 1LE, I probably would have gone with the TTRS and put about $5K into it for a tune, downpipes, exhaust, springs and swaybar had a 3.2 0-60 car that could still handle well.

However, when I can pick up a 2SS 1LE for $44K, that is about half the price of the TTRS, and the 1LE is putting up the numbers of the M3 GTS and GT350R, you just can't pass that up.

LOL, certified? By whom? The Ford Nutswinger Certification body? I'll stick to the member posted times, thank you. Just like you have a problem with 'some guy' posting his slip, we have no idea what prep was done for those mag times, just their word.

I have little reason to doubt this run:

'

Just like I don't doubt the m6g member who posted the 11.9 slip.

But feel free to deny.

Yep, they probably had to send out a search party for that GT.

Point taken. I guess in their minds, the prestige is worth it.

Considering straight line performance and price, I'd say the TTRS is more in the ZL1 category than SS 1LE, but the fact you cross shopped the SS 1LE speaks volumes. Not an Audi fan, but there's no denying that TTRS put up some good numbers stock.
