Brake line fittings won’t fit
I’m trying to splice in a tee fitting for a pressure sensor on one of the rear brake lines on my 2012 convertible. I’ve done this before on other cars with 3/16 lines and never had an issue. I just use a -3an tee fitting and flare the two parts of the existing tube where I made the cut and then bolt it in. In this car even though the brake line is 3/16 there is a hard plastic coating over it. Due to this coating the tube sleeve for the AN flare does not want to slide over the end of the tube. I checked it with a dial micrometer and am getting a diameter of roughly .20 this seems to be due to the coating on the oem brake lines. Has anyone ever dealt with this before or know a simple way of removing a few inches of the coating? Any help would be appreciated.

I sanded the coating off with a die grinder with a sanding wheel then the tube sleeve was able to slip on.
