Steering Wheel Wobble after BMR trailing arms - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I've had a 100% stock suspension and original wheels with the stock style tires in my 2012 Camaro SS Convertible since it was new (currently have 23,000 miles). After setting up for a drag setup I am experiencing steering wobble that I cannot track down the cause.

I recently installed BMR rear trailing arms with spherical bearings (TCA027) along with the trailing arm outer bushing kit (BK006), I then put on a new set of wheels and tires, the wheels were weld RTS S71 17" wheels.

In the rear I had 9.5" wheels with Mickey Thompson ET Street R 28x12.5R17 (P305/45R17).

In the front I had 5" wheels with Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R 28x6.00R17LT

After installing the trailing arm, bushings and the new wheels I was experiencing a wheel wobble starting around 40-45mph and worst at 60mph. I just assumed the front skinnies weren't properly balanced. I had them on the car for a 10 mile trip to and from the track and for about 6 1/8th mile passes.

Afterwards I took the drag wheels off and put the stock wheels and tire back on I am now still experiencing a slight wobble in the steering wheel starting around 50mph and worst around 60. I never had a wobble before, and while it is less of a wobble with the stock wheels compared to the drag setup it is definitely still there.

Does anyone have suggestions of what to check? I cant think of any reason that the trailing arms and it's bushing would lead to a wobble in the steering wheel, but nothing else has changed on the car (other then deleting the cats) since before this started.

On my COPO I was experiencing a little wobble in the steering wheel on the shutdown and fixed that by replacing the rubber bushings in the front with solid, but I don't think that should be the cause in my 2012 as it never had the wobble before. Any advice of what I should be checking would be appreciated.

I would start with a wheel balance and alignment. I know you went back to your original wheels/tires, but I would still check balance.

sounds like wheel weight for one of the corners could have flew off, happens.

Alignments seem to affect these cars in many ways including vibrations
