I guess its time to bring it back from the hashes if Ford wants to compete at the tier 2 level now.
They won't bring back the GT anytime soon. It would take steam out of the new Mustang launch which isn't far off at this point. I think you will see the GT350 competing with ZL1 and some track-oriented version competing with Z/28. Losing weight and adding IRS will help them a lot with that. Ford really needs to start putting some real tires on their cars if tehy want to compete. Tires are paramount on track. It's cool to see real track cars hitting dealerships again. Z/28 is definitely the current peak of pony cars in my mind. I only wish they had a more daily driver friendly version. Maybe next time around.

Nice car. But let me get this straight... a yet to be released very expensive Camaro is beating up on a used, reasonably priced 2012 Boss 302 and I'm supposed to be impressed, why exactly?

Oh wait, I know. This pretty much guarantees the next performance variant of the Mustang will be on my shopping list. Thanks Al. And to think I was considering a Porsche next.

I think they said the comparatively priced top of the line model was even slower than the used, reasonably priced one.

I think the "why exactly" was the statement that the 302 was the fastest Mustang at Laguna Seca for comparison's sake....

Pretty cool. And the obvious question is exactly the one I would have asked. Who knew? Besides Al that is.

This is correct. They "updated" the radio and hill assist in 2013, then the taillights and rear fascia on the 2014 and that's pretty much it. All ZL1's thus far should perform about the same.

I wonder what this car would do against the Boss 302 if it had 18x10s all round, and intake , headers with full exhaust and tune. Would like to see that.
