Ati superdamper falling off during dyno

Anyone experienced an Ati super damper fly off I have just installed a new procharger kit with a new ati super damper with 12 rib belt and pully. I installed to the exact specs in directions.took my Camaro in to have it turned and got a call today said that pully flew off and fouled a lot of stuff up .told by my tunner that I may have to replace crank due to pully spinning on crank anyone out there have any imput?

Was it pinned?
Did you use the bolt it came with?
Did you use loctite on the bolt?

No the directions for the ati did not say to pin also in the pro charger directions for ati crank it did not say to pin .It only said to pin on the stock crank in the procharger instructions.it also said in the ati directions for for non lsx mothers without a key way on crank to fill key way with silicone which I did to prevent leak .Yes I did use lock tite 242 blue on the bolt .I used the oem bolt that it came with

Always ALWAYS pin the crank on boosted applications especially procharger. I was pretty sure every kit they sale come with a pinning kit. Hell when I talked to them they said it would be in my best interest to pin two sides. My guess the bolt obviously wasn't torqued properly of it spun so bad on the crank it backed out the bolt.

Sounds like you used an install tool and then didn't bolt the pulley on. They don't just fly off, pinned or not. Pinning is only to stop it from spinning.

All bolts were torked to spec in directions I now realize the reason the crank flew off is that the crank wasent pinned I was reading the directions properly but what wasent made clear in the instructions is that they were for N/A only. Most of the way through the Ati instructions after they mention if you decide to pin the crank order ther special key way kit do they say pinning is a must on supercharged applications.Man Do I feel stupid for missing that vague comment what an expensive fu#%k up.

I've done the same thing don't feel bad, except I confused a new oem bolt for an old one.

I called ATI about the need to pin mine, as my aftermarket crank is already keyed. I am doing the 12 rib as well. If the procharger kit comes with a pinning kit I will be pinning as well 180 degrees off from the key. Its better to be safe then sorry. I personally would use red loctite on the crank bolt. ATI said I am good with just a key.

Man I hate to hear when this sort of thing happens to someone. You would think these companies could provide clear instructions for the DIY guy. Hope you get it all worked out and going again soon!!

I saw the photo's on my feed, i hope you get it sorted out clean. Do not feel too bummed out, i was sent home too when my turbo car came in the first time. Needless to say second time was a charm and its been fantastic ever since, they do a real good job at making sure the tune is street friendly in its mannerisms. I have been tuned there 3 times its worth the stress.
