Next up was the engine and trans.
motor is a SB 350 ('dressed up' as an SS, ...chrome trim, etc.). For the trans, ...I opted for a Tremec 5sp. |

Another mod was the addition of a factory looking AM/FM stereo with an auxilary Ipod input mounted in the console, ...along with a power trunk release. I also decided to add 'factory' rear speakers. I needed to fab some housings since the factory housings are made for much shallower speakers. These will mount under the convertible well liner, so you won't even see them once installed.

Next up was the wiring for the neutral safety switch (and 'kill' switch) for the Tremec. I punched a whole in the floor, fab'd up a bracket, and mounted the relays, with all the wiring hidden under the console.
This brought me to another 'holding pattern', where the car sat for another year, until the summer of 2013 where I started making more progress... |

...and that was the past 4-5 years, bringing things up-to-date, March 2014.
After the winter from HeII I was anxious to get back out to the garage to start it up , and begin mapping the next phase. I am hopeful that I'll be on the road with it this summer. I still need to install the windshield (and trim), the interior, bleed the brakes and have an alignment done. Once that's done, I plan on driving it! (the top install will wait In the mean time......(as I mentioned I really like the blue white combo ) I am patiently waiting for a good friend in PA to finish up a few things on this... |

It is, and did great holding the (100+ pound) Tremec, ...While the engine was still suspended from the hoist
As a one person job, the dolly and lightweight jack are an easy way to hold the trans up (and be able to slide forward) while the engine is still suspended. |
