Problem going into 2nd Gear!!!

I have a problem just about every 3 rd time or so going into 2 nd gear if I am standing on it. I am shifting around 6000rpm. It just don't go in and I hit the limiter. I let off and it goes right in. I don't have a problem at all with 3rd or any other gear. I didn't put the skip shift eliminator on it but I don't get any kind of light on the dash. I have been driving a standard for some time now and know that I am not missing 2nd gear. Any thoughts???

As far as I know it still is the skip shift, mine doesn't always light up in the DIC only some of the time. Don't know what else it could be.

if skip shift kicks in at 6k rpm, wouldn't that be some kind of problem? I thought it only activated under casual driving, low rpm shifts

It goes in good at any other time. Only when I am on it all the way.

uh yeah, what he said. would kinda defeat the purpose of the skip shift for having rpms too low

I haven't had alot these problems guys are talking about but got me a little worried with flooring it, shifting hard, revving too high, launch control issues, etc. since I really haven't gotten on it yet, but I hope that they don't arise when I do start to see what she's got!

Mine did the exact same thing to me today and I ended up freaking out and grinding the gears. I hate that. Idk what it is this is the first time it has happened.

I have had this happen once on the camaro and once on the old C6 I had. Not sure what it is but it scares the hell out of you. I think it is just a poor shift and the gear does not engage. Like I said, it has happened once to me.

So far, I have experienced or missed going into 2nd under hard acceleration twice. Right now, I am chalking it up to driver error but keeping an eye on it just in case there is some inherent problem. Before getting my car, it had been about 13 years since I owned and regularly drove a vehicle with a manual transmission. With that being said, it is truly like riding a bike, you never really lose the knowledge, or at least I don't think I did.

I have the same problem as well and it probably is a poor shift. I never had this problem with my 05 rustang and really believe that once I get my MTI short throw shifter, it will alleviate this.
