i think we have discussed this one million times on two million threads. while some claim the gauges to not be accurate mine is always 235 - 240 on the dic when hot. pegged right at the top of the indicated range.

change it lately? my truck would show the oil getting hotter the older and thinner it became.
not sure what normal is for your engine. my 5.3l stayed around 180. |

Mine is just a hair above 200 on the gauge and and DIC stays around 215-217. If really hot out and I get on it it goes to 220 but comes back down in awhile.

Did your eyes not transfer the information to your brain that the needle is between the two hashmarks either side of center?
If it was pinned at exactly the center all the time I would start to worry. |

Looks normal to me. 200-230 is where mine's usually at depending on conditions.

i've checked right after a fresh oil change. same 235 - 240 when hot.

Looks within parameters to me, but we really don't know anything about the car at the time you took the pic. Type of driving, outside temp, etc.

Mines around there when drag racing or a track day or prolong periods in hot traffic days. I don't daily drive but typically under normal, cool conditions I would consider that too high.

confirmed yesterday my V6, summer heat, city driving, 196. water was 198.
