Tough call man. I say that's a hell of a good price. I bought my 2010 2SS/RS in November for $31,500 with 9400 on it. I'd just make absolute sure there is nothing wrong with it. If it all checks out I'd say it's a hell of a deal. 45K may be high for a 2 year old car but it's still got well over half it's life left.

That deal sounds almost too good to be true even with the high mileage. Have you known this friend since '09 when the car was purchased? If not...get a carfax report.

Being that it's an SS I would check the rubber on the rear wheels make sure there is some tread left....but at 45k the rubber should have been replaced already

I knew the guy for about a year, and trust him well. It's about 50/50 (50% highway miles) - I've always wanted this car, but kind of stopped caring about cars when other issues of my life came up. It's 5am and I can't sleep since I'm excited and scared at the same time (for tomor..today) In anycase, Here's my thread with the photos I took a lil while ago

Does he have any non-cosmetic mods? CAI, headers, exhaust, suspension? If it's an automatic, you should be able feel/hear it switch between 8cyl and 4cyl mode when the AFM kicks in under very light throttle. If AFM never kicks in, chances are that it's been tuned. Great price by the way but you have to ask yourself why he's willing to take such a loss after just 2 years... As for the mileage, if it is a daily driver, it is easy to rack up that kind of mileage in a couple of years. I had my 2010 V6 for 2yrs, 4mo and put almost 42k miles on it before trading it in.

I'm sitting here reading how so many peoplr think 45k is alot of miles! Someday our cars will have 45k on them and we will be thinking that's not bad at all. Or we will want to know why won't the dealer give us Shit for our trade? Cars now days are designed to go 100,000 and then some more. If it wasn't beat it's a GREAT deal. JMO>

Why is he getting rid of it? That's a good question I don't think has been answered yet.

I don't the miles are a big deal and the $$ reflect that. If you trust the guy, and the car is sound.... go for it.
but.... there are deals out there for a few more $$. I've seen 1SS/RS's around 30k (+/- 1k) with way less miles. just for your FYI.... - sean |
