Chevy are very clear on the performance part site about which mods don't and do break warranty. I really like their dynamic duo - cam and heads - which requires a custom tune; and that's very clearly stated on their website.

And for a part that is that of an extensive change to the motor, loss of warranty is expected. I just can't see people being silly enough to lose their warranty for around 20 HP. The Z/28 CAI is not listed on the Chevrolet Performance website. I don't know of anybody that was expecting the CAI to take your warranty. Another user on this site says it comes with a new MAF sensor so that could be the culprit but it's just not worth it for that small of a gain for me.

Maybe they don't want to be responsible if the engine runs too learn? (I'm reaching)
