RESOLVING VIBRATION ISSUE - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

My car has had a vibration under load that becomes apparent at about 60 mph and progressively worsens as speed increases. Took it to a dealer today and without doing a vibration test the tentatively concluded that the u-joint connecting the driveshafts is bad or misaligned. They chose to order a new driveshaft assembly rather than tearing it apart today and having to reassemble it if the joint is bad. The joint is not available as a seperate part so they have to replace the entire thing from trani to dif. if it is bad.

Ok so GM decides they want a vibration location test done before they start pumping $ in it. Good thing. Problem was the left axle shaft. Should be good to go by weeks end. As for the shifting issue. I was told by 2 techs it has to be in the trani tune. I will just ditch that particular tune and load another and see what shakes out.

Both rear axles replaced. Vibration issue gone!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tima get back in the hunt!
