I'm gonna try this with hill assist next time I take her out. Gonna have to find a hill. Not too many around here.

This works on hill assist for how long? You have to do it every time you drive the car?

Yea when i posted this i figured someone would quickly tell me this has been a well known fact, but apparently not lol. I was seriously contemplating the skip shift eliminator because my schedule has changed and the traffic is going to be a relatively normal event for me, but this works just fine in my situation

Yes, well, in another life I drove a '94 Z28 in hilly San Francisco. Skip shift was the least of my problems, because the heavy ride would try to roll back on an incline. I had to cha-cha-cha on the clutch and the accelerator to not embarrass myself. So, I don't see those problems in my 2012. Just saying...

You have a 2010 it was not introduced till 2013. Basically what it does is it temporarily holds your breaks while your on a hill so you don't roll backwards. It's supposed to give you just enough time to switch from the brake to the gas while holding the clutch in.

For many that have been accustomed to not having it in a car it really messes them up when it engages.

It is fairly common among many cars with manual transmissions. It automatically holds your car until you are in gear and accelerating so you don't roll backwards when on an incline.

When it first came out, it was a big deal with cars like Subaru station wagons (outbacks) where folks didn't know how to compensate for the incline. Actually was a gamechanger, made stick shifts palatable for many.

However, here in CamaroLand, home of the non-nanny state, most guys wouldn't let a gas station attendant clean their windows or check their oil even if such beings still roamed God's green earth................

Right, that's what it's SUPPOSED to do. What actually happens, at least in some cars, you rev while engaging the clutch and the brakes DO NOT disengage. If you give it too little gas, the end result is a stall. If you give it just enough, you sit there with the clutch burning up until the HSA's time is up.

I've been cooped up in the house for a couple of days with the flu but seeing if it'll override Hill Assist is worth venturing out tonight.

I'll report back

Cool and very interesting. I installed my skip shift eliminator within a week of delivery. It was easy and effective after 29,000 miles. Still see it on screen but just shift through it.
