The sales department want to sell you a car today. Come back rates are very low in car sales. If you are looking for something in particular and the dealer doesn't have it, they are going to try and sell you something they do have.

There are good dealerships, however, where the purchasing manager and the sales manager communicate about what it is that shoppers are looking for. There are also good salespeople that will follow up with you if it comes in, on the off hand chance that you haven't purchased yet.

But for the most part it is a "Don't see what you can sell, sell what you can see" mentality.

I had a 98 Acura Integra GSR. 1.8l, 170 hp stock with an 8,000 rpm redline. The car was a lot of fun. It had very little torque so you have to be above 5000 rpm to make some power.

Oh yeah the Hondas need and love to be revved! I bought a new '89 Integra LS 5spd coupe in Laguna Gold - it probably had the slickest manual tranny I've ever driven. I loved that car and drove it 8 years and almost 200K miles til I traded it in for a new '97 Z/28 vert. On my Interceptor the VTEC doesn't even activate until 6,800 rpm so I'll keep it between 8k-12k rpm during spirited riding.

I don’t not get that. Better looking, nicer interior, and smoother ride are “boring“? It also had more features than the Equinox for the money. Never mind it’ll kick the Chevy‘s butt in resale, even though I’m planning on keeping it for 10 years.

Not true, I had a Toyota RAV4 with a four cylinder engine and it was junk...constant issues. However I have also had a lot of success with Toyota’s as well.

As much as I loved my Camaro this is why I went to Subaru for a decent size family vehicle

For the wife and I it was between Subaru and Honda for a family ride. I know the old EJ's had poor head gaskets but there hasn't been a single failure among the new FB H4's so I went ahead and pulled the trigger

My SS was very reliable for how hard I pushed it though!

I agree..zero issues with my Camaro and its been beat on quit a bit. But as a daily that I will own for 10 years its Honda all the way. Alot of vehicles have good initial quality....its year 3 ...4 and later that you see the quality difference.
