The MRC will be an awesome feature (option?). A possible side benefit of the MRC in the Camaro HP will be the possibility of adding this functionality to existing 2010/2011 SS models. A similar thing happened with the HUD - these were retrofitted to early production 5th gen Camaros in kit form.

The original Z was just a normal Camaro with suspension upgrades
Kinda like the Z51 Corvette was just an internal code as well.

GS Corvette is now Z52

well just as I said last year...that the new "powerhouse" camaro should be the ZL1 that would compete with the GT500 and that the Z28 should have a lighter body and a high rev (maybe DI) 5.3L engine that would be focused on the BOSS 302..makes more heritage sense..guess that we will have to wait and see..I think that is what FBODFATHER is refering too when he said Z28 wasn't mentioned in the script

OOOOooooo... I forgot about that! That little honey was forged, though, yes?... I'd totally bedown for that though!

I was under the impression that a vehicle produced in CY12 would be considered a MY13. If GM produces the Z28/HPE on the 1st of Janurary, 2012, it will roll off the line the same time as the 2013 Cobra. I have a feeling that it will be released as a 2013 Z28/HPE.

I would rather see the Z51 option over the MRC F55s, maybe they will reserve the Z51s for the real Z28. According to the ZO6 crowd, the MRC F55s actually over heat over extended road course duty. the F55s are also expensive and quite a heavy option vs. the Z51s.

with the 285/330 combo, the 12 inch wheel plus the 330 rubber would weigh close to 90lbs per wheel, thats almost 30lbs more over stock rears alone.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the convertible chassis strenghing techniques applied to this monster. From what I hear, the convertible's chassis treatment was spot on.

Either way, 2012 will be a big year for both... Ford will no doubt go all in with the SVT Cobra being its their 20th Anniversary and the last MY for the tired body style. Also, a good reason for GM to hold off on the HPE till 1 Jan, see if Ford will jump first.. details for the updated SE should be out around October/Novemeber 2011.

Could it be that the SSX was the HP in cloak and dagger format at SEMA?

I'm confused as to how this is relevant for the current model (to be)? Or are you talking future iterations of v8 performance cars?

There's no way this car is going to have 330 tires. No one even offers a 330 tire. I'm guessing it will be a 315 since it will have an 11 inch wide wheel.

Are we sure they are going to start production on a Sunday too?
