Balncer puller and torque specs? Cam change

Hey guys, my lunati voodoo is here! I was wondering about the balancer puller, can I use my puller that I use on my old school engines, or do I need something else? Also as far as the cam bolt, I am staying with the single bolt and a OEM replacemt bolt... what are the torque specs? Thanks, I will be starting the tare down friday, and finish up on sat!

You need a different puller. I borrowed a free loaner (plus the big torque wrench I needed) from the local Advance Auto Parts store. It is a small 3 jaw style puller that grabs behind the damper. That plus a few assorted sockets did the trick. I have the Kent Moore tools for the install that I picked up used on Ebay.

I do not have the torque spec in front of me but if nobody posts it before I get home, I will try to look it up and post it for you.

Ok thanks man, I found the torque specs so all good! Is the puller for GM engines or is that universal?

When you go to the parts store to rent the pulley puller, rent the Chrysler one...the GM one is way different and didn't look remotely close to right. The Chrysler universal one will look just like what's pictured above and will work great...there are small notches on the engine side of the pulley that those 3 fingers will fit right into.

To loosen the stock crank bolt...your car is an M6, so do what I did. Put the car in 4th, set the parking brake, and have a friend sit in the drivers seat holding the brakes.

Find a strong breaker bar with a 22mm socket, and then put your jack handle over it so it's really long.

Setup the breaker bar on the bolt so it's as far over to the drivers side as you can get it before you put any pressure on it...if necessary, use it to turn the engine over a little first (have your friend stuff the clutch pedal in for a moment) to get it WAY over to that side...then put something soft between the jack handle and the passenger side fender...put a fender cover on the fender...and then pull as hard as you can.

When you think "wow, I'm screwed this bolt isn't coming out"...just keep fighting it...it'll suddenly just start loosening. I actually thought I broke the breaker bar or socket when it popped free...it was just the bolt starting to turn. I pieced it all back together, had one more not easy crank to loosen it further, and then the bolt came right out.

After that...I put the bolt back in 8-10 turns for the puller to land on and pull from.
