I have a WOT box on my car, and can no lift shift with it. I have done data log testing with and without no lift shifts and have concluded that it actually does not save any significant time to use the no lift shift function. I typically make a 175-250ms second shift (the 1-2 has to be a lil slow or this early TR6060 makes you pay) with no lift, or without it. Shift time is limited by the clutch hydraulics, and the trans, and that's just as fast as it will tolerate, whether or not I close the throttle.

So, I close the throttle - it's not a boosted car, it costs me nothing, and it's a little easier on everything. I shift at 7200, and even with the limiter at 7300 if I stab the clutch at WOT at 7200rpm without the WOT box it will go north of 7600 before the rev-limter gets a-hold of it - that's not something I would want to repeat all the time. Every setup is different, and will dictate the best approach.

Thanks for the info. I sure admire you fellows that can pull off those lightning quick shifts. If my Z/28 wasn't such a cream puff I would try to imitate. I'm concerned that I may just see expensive parts bouncing around in the rear view mirror!

I assume you and him are holding the Button in and just releasing the parking brake? surely not pressing the button to release it that fast
Sorry, just never have tried this and would like some more info!! Thx

Launching with a stick is a delicate dance. After much practice, and a couple clutches, I was able to get down to 1.4x 60'. Patience and practice.

Correct - you keep the button depressed and hold it - you wouldn't want to pull it on that tight and then try to release it quickly.

Your Exactly right, i cant get my 15 Z/28 consistent at all... I am ashamed to say what my 60 foots are... lets just say the best has been a 2.0 60 foot with 604 to back tire, But the 19 inch drag radials have alot to do with that too. I am switching to a 18 inch S71 . Weld has a 8 week window, hopefully they done by LS fest in Sept

Gotcha, I assumed that was correct. I am in process of getting new 18 inch welds for rear of my 15 Z/28 and a better drag radial. I was running stock Z wheels on back with 19 inch M/T street SS tires and a absolutely horrible 60 foot times. So hopefully 18 inch will help. What tire do you recommend?

Save some money and get a set of replica C6 Z06 front wheels. 18" fits over the brakes and cheap.

Yes, your right.. It would save alot of $$ but i have so much invested in the car now with the $70 grand purchase price new and $15 grand in aftermarket stuff i hate to skimp now. Looks is very important to me on this car and like the matching front and rear wheels. The car is a keeper, bought new and plan to leave to my son when i die. aslong as nothing stupid happens and it gets destroyed.. Im not rich by any means but why stop spending money now.. LOL

For track only I like my Hoosier Dr2's. Really good bite, pretty soft sidewall but not as sketchy as bias plys with a full size street tire up front.

For street and track the mickey works well, r for more track, S/S for more wear tolerance on the street.

Curious, would you share what size Hoosier Dr2's you ran? I couldn't find any even close to the 28" like I'm looking for.

I am in the same boat, either 26 or 30'' is what i am seeing.. They are saying they are releasing a 29.5 inch tall tire for a 18 inch wheel but thats still taller than i want and the 26 i think might be to short for a 18 inch wheel

It seems to me? Or do you have 3 gear where I have 5 gear?

Should be - just a normal TR6060 with a normal shift pattern. What looked weird to you?
