Remember, as strong as the LS3 motors are (they are awesome, no doubt), the 5th gen is not a light car like the Vette. So with a 4th gen, you have a 350HP LS1 in a 3450lb car, as opposed to a 5th gen, which has 426HP in a 3850lb car. So the 4th gen has approximately 9.85lbs per HP, while the 5th gen has 9.03lbs per HP. My bolt on LS1, for example, has approximately 400HP at the crank. With a weight of around 3500lbs, that puts me at 8.75lbs per HP. So my bolt on LS1 should be a good race for a 5th gen. |
