larger clutch fluid reservoir
I have the separate reservoir but it gets dirty very quickly. Does anyone know of a place where I guy buy a much larger one? Just a good quality generic one, I can make a bracket out of aluminum or stainless.

I hear a sponsor on here is working on one made of nice billet.

Mine seams large enough . A larger one would just get more dot 4 dirty and cost more when you change the fluid .Most of us get the GTO clutch res ,you can get it at any Chevy dealer orat GMpartsdirect.com

What we are working on is similar to the stock reservoir, but the clutch fluid is separate inside of the master cylinder reservoir, and has it's own cap. The feedback I have received from the road race and auto-x guys is that the GTO res doesn't have enough capacity to not fade by the end of the track weekend without changing the fluid at least once. In addition, the stock master res is pretty ugly, so with our one piece unit it will eliminate those covers that people use for the caps and the res, and there will be no extra hose nipple like when you separate the reservoirs, plus less clutter in the engine bay. It may not be a solution for everyone, but we are looking to kill more than a couple birds with one stone.

Thanks for the feedback. I have the GTO with the L99 stock reservoir and yes it gets dirty very very quickly.
I was looking for something that could replace the GTO reservoir. Just something with the same nipple size, 3/8 I think. I have everything I need to make a bracket. I might just get my brother to fabricate a reservoir. Also, I would be interested in an all in one, just one word of advice: make it big! Like equal the size of the stock reservoir. When do you think you might have a prototype that we can check out? |

It will be anodized aluminum, with proper EPDM diaphragm cap gaskets. The problem with some of the other billet reservoirs is that they use an oring, forcing them to use a vent system that exposes the fluid to air. We will more than likely offer a separate reservoir that holds more than the GTO one but with more capacity, that uses the same mounting and hose to make it a direct swap for those that have one already, but it will be after the full replacement is produced. As to timeframe, I believe we are starting Monday on 3D modeling and prototyping. We would actually have had these done, but we received a lot more orders for our solid subframe bushings than we anticipated, so we had to knock out a second run of them for those individuals that wanted to make holiday orders. I am getting back on this project now that we are caught up on those and the trailing arms/toe rods.

I was looking at ordering this one. 7oz reservoir. I don't know for sure but for $16 If it is not good, it wont be much lost. Anyone have experience on this one?

What if you used a reducer in reverse on both ends of the hose and use a larger lines say 7/16ths or 1/2 so the line itself could be a partial reservoir itself???

It might add a negligible amount of fluid, but flow would be restricted by the smallest orifice diameter, especially since the fluid in the reservoir is not under pressure, just suction. Adding to the total fluid volume aids in reducing the total percentage of contamination in the fluid when the slave cylinder strokes, so it takes longer for the fluid to degrade to where it becomes necessary to change it.
