I joined Camaro5 a few weeks ago and have been slowly working my way through the Brandi build thread. I must say that it has been an amazing read, not only for the car building, but to see the friendships that grew from strangers who became very close through their love of fast cars. I certainly hope Robert is doing well and has no ill effects from the medical difficulties. All the best to him and everyone of you amazing gear heads. This thread has given me more pleasure than you can imagine. so...thanks. Be well everyone.

Thank you for the kind words.... I am doing much better and hopefully I'll be back to work soon.... Corey and I discussed the Brandi the other day, and we are looking to get two cars out of the shop, haul the 69 Chevelle up there so folks can look at it if they are interested in purchasing it, and then we will take my car up there and start the long process of getting her back together...

I often go back and pick a random page in this build thread, and a few others and read.... It's hysterical and I laugh so much.... Knowing most of the actors in person makes it all the better.... and there are still some I consider a close friend and I've never seen them in person.... I did meet Tim Collet north of Seattle on a vacation my wife and I took.... That was a fun trip.... I've met a bunch of them in person, here in my area.... (Texas and Louisiana) literally all over both states.... and I've met a bunch of others at the different Camaro Fest.... It's interesting meeting someone you've never seen in person.... maybe never even seen a photo of them, but you know them the moment you see them... Bruce, (Speedster), Randy, (PQ) Chris and so many others....

Welcome to Camaro5 and Thanks for stopping in... When we start going back together, I'll be posting more and more updates.... Corey want to drive the car at the Mile.... I've been trying to get him to do so for a while, and after driving Chris's car... he is now interested.... Chris has a car that goes a consistent 210 or so at the mile.... and Corey has his Class A license, and he wants to drive Brandi for his AA (unlimited) license....

Thanks Don, and me too.... I still won't drive the car before I'm off the Coumadin.... I take three blood thinners right now, and once off the Coumadin, then I'll look to get back in her... If anything happened while I was on it, I would be in a bind from the bruising alone, much less any lacerations....

It's official, sort of....

I have a release to return to work from both my Neurologist and my Cardiologist.

Tomorrow I'll be calling my office in Houston to determine what the next steps are.... I'm pretty sure I'll have to go see the company doctor. He can immediately remove the choice to EVER go back offshore. I'm mentally prepared if that occurs. I've spoken to my manager and he has stated they will find something for me to do if need be

The over-riding hope is to be able to return to the work I truly enjoy and that's offshore.

Time will tell, and hopefully in the next week or two I'll know. I'm betting they will also make me retake the water survival course. I'll jump through hoops if that's what it takes....

One side effect if I can't go to work offshore, I'll always be able to take time off for the mile.... but it also means I'll be a day to day office weenie... not my bag, but I'll stay positive regardless.... It is all aimed to getting my car back together...

Below are some memories from this thread and from my image collection I might not have ever shared before.... I wanted the video last but I'm not talented enough to accomplish that...

I take a lot of photos myself.....many are daft and pointless, until several years later ! and they're great to look through to see what has changed or stuff you were going through at the time.

You've definitely been through a lot even in that small selection.

Ultimately back to work at any level is a huge step forward, things can only improve from here on out.

I scroll through this and a few other build threads often.... as well as photo's I've saved on facebook and in my laptop/iPad....

I think back to the situation and conditions of the mechanical and biological things of the time.... Call it reminiscing or whatever..... I am truly blessed to be at the point I am now.... Anything else is icing on the already sweet cake.....

Glad to see you’re back in the rat race!

This is really awesome news simply for the fact of your recovery. Being an office weenie isn't all that bad if you can still rotate like me LOL... otherwise you'll be a weenie.

I know how difficult it is to get cleared to go back offshore as we always have 3 or 4 folks working in my office that are trying recover from something. Fingers crossed for you brother.

LMAO, lol.... I'll probably end up being a weenie....

So whats one more, sign me up to work with you.... Nah, even if I am relegated to working in the office, I'll manage somehow.... The best of all worlds is/would be working from the house.... We have and have had, quite a few folks work that way.....
