Hi Guys,
Do you think that this mod could be detected and affect my Zl1's warranty?

Will this adjustment provide a lean mixture any tune required or will the computer relearn. I hope no damage can come from this...thanks

I don't think so, as this is an adjustment to the bypass valve. Original setting is with a slight crack, so re-adjusting to fully closed is what you're really doing here.

No and a tune is not required...All your doing is adjusting the bypass valve to a full close to stop any air for seeping out...The fueling is based on the amount of air that has already been produced...

I am having difficulties trying to do this. When I remove the first 10 mm bracket, I see the other 2 - 10 mm bolts. Are you supposed to remove the vacuum lines and engine wire harness to get to them?
Thanks |

You should be able to get to them without disconnecting all vac lines... try 1/4 ratchet with extention
It just takes some patience... becareful not to break any lines ... i had to replace my bypass actuator last week during my cam install... busted the nipple off |

Crash there has to be some way to move the wire harness that clips on the actuator.

Crash when I popped both t-clips what do you do with the wire harness? I still can't see the gap of the set screw. I pulled the wire harness about 1/2 an inch towards the radiator.
Thanks again for all your help. |

You should have rotated the top portion toward the motor, and the bottom portion toward the radiator by no more than 1/8th inch and used a long flat head screwdriver to push the set screw away from contacting any metal ever so slightly...It's an awkward angle to work with but you shouldn't have to remove anything other than the 1st bolt to get enough clearance, to slightly loosen the two screws that hold the bracket...If you went that far back and set the bracket your bad out of line and could damage the diaphragm and/or cause the body to stick open...
