Pretty sure he meant to say 4th instead of 5th... but then he's talking 10.5s which I have no clue about...

Wacker did a bunch of test and tune on this. The Auto shifts into 4th right before the traps. He made adjustments to keep it in 3rd all the way through and found it was better to just let it shift to 4th as it was dropping out of the power band in 3rd.

No I meant 5th. I don't want the car shifting into fifth gear and loosing anything. With a 4.10 I'm pretty sure that it would put the car into 5th. I need to check and see where my rpm's are when I cross the line in 4th.

Wacker crosses the line at 111mph. I go through at 125 +. I'm pretty sure I'm into 4th by then.

Speedster,
I start in 1st. All I do is put the car in "S". Shut both the TC and Stabiltrak off and hold on. I let the car do the rest.

Silverfox,
Jannetty tuned the car so if you have any questions what so ever I would ask him. You def don't want me trying to answer any unless you're in need of a good laugh.

Guess I just need to work on hitting the traps faster than 109 and 4th gear will be just right...

Stall Converter and Trans Cooler is on my list... hitting 1.7 60' is a nice target.

Thanks for the info. Just wondering since with that converter you will have some really serious low end grunt and those slicks should be screaming...

Now is where the suspension tune will really become important to plant those tires. Can't wait to see watcha run both 60' and 1/4.

I posted this on another thread but you guys look smart too

As you can see from my build info below I have a PTC converter. At lower acceleration the transmission is a bit more squirley and seems to hunt. When you go hard throttle it is very crisp. I understand that the stock converter is a bit looser and is designed for smoother shifts. My question is should I be experiencing what I am with this higher performance converter. I honestly don't know what the stall is (long story that I will share later) but I believe it is a 10" Lock up. It's almost like it wants to shift and then stalls a bit. Help a rookie out brother!

I think what I am experiencing at the low loads is that I am bouncing off the stall speed and it is trying to lock up and I am not being consistent enough with my 'foot shifter' aka throttle control on my part? Keep in mind this is my first experience with a high performance TC. Go easy on the noob boys!

Thanks for the kind words guys!!
With that new stall you should be in the mid 10's for sure. My 4th gen dropped about half a second with a vigalante 3200. Dont be surprised if you loose a little mph at the traps. I know I did. Lower E.t. is all that matters in the end. Your car is awesome BTW

With the 4.10's I trap 115 @ 6400 in 4th. For a blown motor 3.73's would be the way to go IMO. If you cam it and are able to spin it to 6800 you'll see about 122 with a 28" tall tire and 4.10's. 3.73's will get you 125 @ 6400 in 4th. I plan on blowing my motor soon, just hope the 4.10's aren't to steep. I'll probably have to start in second then.

I run a Circle D 3K stall. It does not hunt and my shift completion RPM is up a few hundred. I have it set to lock at 100 MPH right when the HP curve starts to dip. The 3K stall is perfect for a blown application. Also make sure it is a tight (type A) stator vs a loose (type B). Blown motors need the tight stall so there not wasting HP/TQ. I have not raced the new verter, but plan on doing so this weekend weather permitting. There is a lot of tuning involved with the 6L80E and no-one at the present time has managed to gain full and instantaneous lockup at any given speed. I am actually working on this with my tuner and upon completion the lockup converters will be able to be used to their designed potential.

Since I recently converted my L99/A6 Auto over to a Cammed LS3/A6 Auto im about to throw in a 3200 Stall converter.

Since the day I dynoed the car after doing the conversion/Cam I dont know what she has gained however I left ADM with 432hp

a 3200 Stall should help in the lowend BIG TIME and put the Power to the Pavement.

Get ahold of Andy at ADM and speak to him about his Trans Cooler. Andy has an awsome set up ! It's not expensive at all and the work/job is done very clean.

With the temps reaching almost 100 up here in DFW and driving my car 70 to 90 on the highway my car barely gets past 180.

If I do some hard take offs out of the hole yeah it starts to heat up however she never gets much past 180

imo ANYONE with an A6 needs a Trans Cooler Especially with a Torque converter.

Yes...It is guaranteed to 1000HP. That is one of the reasons I went with them. Once the tuning issue is figured out us A6 guys will be golden.

What tuning issue are you referring to?

As for locking up the converter under WOT, it really isn't a good idea because what you've got in there is a clutch disk with only a fraction of the surface material of a manual trans clutch AND it's immersed in very slippery transmission fluid.

If the converter is efficient enough there really is no need to lock it up under WOT as I've been running killer times in my Corvette for the last three years with a Yank SS3600.

Yeah, I've been doing both the installs and tuning on my car for a little under 3 years now and have built several others for various friends. If you do a search on Youtube for "thesubfloor" the video for my 9.950 pass (all motor) is posted there.

Sadly though I had to sell my soul to the devil when I bought the Camaro as I had to promise the wife I wouldn't mod it. :-(

Sure, just send an e-mail to syclone98@hotmail.com and I'll reply with the tune attached.

Also, as an A6 guy here's something you might want to check out:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-tech-performance/2624720-looking-to-upgrade-your-a6-transmission-well-the-wait-might-finally-be-over-new-post.html

I'm gonna start a similar post on this forum but in a nutshell I'm running a built 6L80 from Century Transmission (near Houston) using the newly developed Alto clutches and we're purposely gonna beat on it at the track as much as possible over the next three months to see how it holds up as I've gone through 6 transmissions in the 3 years I've owned the car.
