2013 ZL1

My daughter bought a ZL1 to use on her YT channel. She and I are always working on cars so this should be a cool project as it gets some upgrades.
What are some starting mods she should tackle? It will primarily be used at the drag strip, kind of a test n tune thing.

headers, pulleys, CAI. And when you decide, go cam, bigger injectors and fuel pumps, E85, ported blower.

Dang that's nice!!! Love the burnout!! Most people haven't figured out yet how to do that in a stick car. Kudo's. As my ZL1 friends have done to start, CAI, headers, catback exhaust and a new dyno tune. Then later on they did the pulley swap for more boost, new tune needed, then after that one of them did the e85 kit, new injectors to pick up some more power, new tune again needed, then he was over 650rwhp!! None of them have done a cam swap yet because they are satisfied with the results so far. You don't really need to go into all that to make it a sure fire track monster. Suspension mods and good slicks will do that for you. Good luck you lucky woman!! lol.

Thanks guys. Definitely slicks, probably 17". Like the E85 route as its everywhere around here. She is learning tuning so this will be the car she learns on. I'll keep this updated as she goes.

Florida, work on Heat Soak, you will rarely know just how much the car has to offer until you drive it in 50 degrees, just make sure its not on those tires..

Some of the first mods will be 160 t-stat and intercooler mods for sure. She'll start out with some cheaper mods first because, well, she doesn't have a ton of money.

Hope I made the right decision, we ordered the kit from Boost District.

160 thermostat will do nothing, cooling mods aren't needed 1st by a long shot.

Put a cold air intake on and adjust the boost bypass valve this should be good for 30 at the wheels

Factory manifolds are pretty good.

Mine made 590 wheel with:

Cold air intake(same one you have)
Adjusted boost bypass valve
VMax ported stock throttle body
Cat delete
2.4 upper pulley
injectors
Tune
on 93 pump fuel

The tires you have on it now suck for anything but road course use, the BFG Comp2 A/S is an amazing tire and the cheapest tire you can buy for these cars. I ran 11.77@ 123 on them and could have went faster with more passes as I will still learning how much they would take in 60ft....mine is also a 6 speed.

I live in the deep south, hot AF

Nice car BTW

Thanks for the info. 123 is great mph with few mods for sure. I think she will go straight for slicks or DOT bias tires and not even mess with any street tire.
