I would go straight to dealership and talk to the service manager. Most of the customer service person don't know anything about everything.

It's interesting that they fix this issue with a heavier spring. It's still only a bandaid fix with the driver suffering the effects in drivability with a heavier than necessary pedal throw.

I had the same clutch to the floor issue and it was corrected by using a clutch that is proper for the car. All those return springs their adding to your car are not on my car at all, I don't have any return springs, not even the on the car came with, because if it's done right it doesn't need them. I get it though, I'm sure you guys don't want to drop the cash on a new clutch but the heavy spring is a BS fix to LS clutch shortcomings.

Monsters LT1-S which is the new clutch GM produced for the LT1 with a flywheel that adapts it to the LS3. It's about equal or even slightly less in pedal weight. Once the pedal spring is removed it's action is much better and less jumpy than the OEM setup. It is a double clutch and smaller in diameter so it's good to about 700hp and revs slightly quicker. They also have a lightweight version of the flywheel which if you track a lot I recommend, but it does mean you'll need a little more slippage for starts on the street.

This is why I know the GM spring fix is BS. They have a better clutch, they just won't do what it takes to adapt it to the LS series and fix them the proper way. I don't blame them though, springs are much cheaper, lol. It just sucks for those of us who live with boarder line performance clutches.

Yeah, i would definitely do a clutch upgrade when i start modding. For now, these springs will do the trick.

And the clutch Assembly came with our car has two return spring, one on each side of the pedal, they are just weak. It will do a 1/4 travel just by pressing with my finger.

I haven't tracked my car and I only have just over 5000 miles but I haven't had any issue with pedal drop. But White_SS/RS is right. The spring is just a temporary fix. I have noticed a slight change in pedal feel after some hard pulls and rowing through the gears. I will definitely keep my eye on this though. Luckily a good friend of mine is a tech at the local Chevy dealership.

I've never had a return problem. I'm doing this TSB to hopefully get a better pedal feel. I've driven manuals for over 45 years and I have a hell of a time driving this car smooth on the street. The pedal just has a weird feel to it. May end up not being any better, but we'll see. I have a friend with a ZL1 that drove my car and he thought it felt goofy also compared to his car.
