I have a son that works at Discount Tire and he has a coworker that is very knowledgeable about engines and engine pricing. He told my son that the $1850 price for my short block which will include basically everything (including cam) but the heads and supporting add-on items is definitely a fair price. I have folks interested but I am concerned about how to ship to someone out of state.

Here's how my engine was shipped to me if you want to go this route. Its just on a storage stand bolted to 2 4x4's with the crate built around it. Will have to be shipped freight.

In a full crate is the best option, and also having it properly secured into the crate so it cannot move.

Sounds like more than $150 worth of trouble. I will probably sell it to someone local and drop the price to $1700.00. This block has been so stout that I must admit to considering just having it refurbished with forged internals and maybe a slight bore/stroke increase.

Ugh you broke it? I was able to recoup $75 for my Thompson shipping crate. They come with nice motor mount bracket/legs, perfect for shipping any ls motor.

That side had a tow motor fork go through it so I just ripped it off. I’m using the storage stand to store my LS3 until I rebuild it.

Hey Foot if you decide to go through the headache to ship your motor to someone I still have the stands TSP sent my motor on I'd send to ya. No $ or anything just to help a guy out. Just screw them to a pallet and build a box around it.

A very generous offer!

My shop was going to handle the shipping prep for $150 which included the stand, crate, and shrink wrap.

I have decided to wait a bit on the LSX. Work has been slow and I just want to take a step back before plunging into a $20K decision for a 2010 Camaro, though I will probably keep the darn thing until I cant drive anymore since I have so much invested in it. Darn near every moving part of the car has been replaced with aftermarket performance parts except the engine bottom end. I put the suction limiter plate back in to reel the hp back just a tad but if my shop sponsors a track rental then I will pull it back out and try to crack the 9's. The car is capable but the driver sucks, lol!

Got a new blower for Christmas. Considering options for installation. Any ideas?

I'm thinking putting it on a trailer like the Roadkill supercharged Monza.

Happy New Year to all of my FI friends!

On a more serious note from my previous post, I recently attended the Texas Bike Rally in Galveston and a photographer snapped this pic as I drove by. Nice shot of the Gulf in the background:
