A new one costs ~$65k. Wouldn't pay $50k for a 5yr old car...
A 1LZ with zero options starts at $77K.

Agreed,

When I have the extra work-shop in a few months, I'll find one for under $40k; as the mileage would be less of an issue now that I think about pulling the heads and building up the long block for strenght under froced induction.

It does happen for under 40k, but not very often. Be prepared to pull the trigger fast when you find one.

I am obsessed with C6 Z06s. That will be my next car after the Camaro is paid off.

I need to find a good website with a summary of A. The difference in all the trim packages. And B. the difference per model year. Everything I read is bits and pieces here and there.

that is an APR splitter, its about $950 brand new.
50K is steep, maybe because mileage is low. i picked up my 2008 last year with 32K miles for $44K..... you may want to look in the corvette forums, you may find a 09 for that price.
