L99 Rev build-up

Okay, with an L99...

To rev your car for a quick start, can you put it in neutral then rev it to 2000 and put it down to D? Or is this bad to do? I know, I know, dumb question.

i would suggest to hold down the break (NOT THE Emergency Break) all the way and rev it up to 2k RPM and then let of the break and slam the gas simultaneously

While in Drive

Brake Hold with Traction Control Turned off. Reving to 2000 RPM and dropping into D will destroy the transmission.

Please don't ever do that. Never rev while in park or neutral then put in a gear while its rev'd up...unless you want tranny parts floating around in the tranny. Just make more power and you won't have to do that to spin the tires. Turn off Stabilitrac and TC, while in drive hold the brake down until the tire starts to break traction (but hasnt' started spinning yet), then simulateously let your foot off the brake and floor it, this is for a "spinning take off" to impress your neighbor. You would need to modulate this type of launch at the track for a low 60' time.
