Busted Exterior Mirror Casing

Backing out of my garage tonight the driver's side mirror hit the doorway and busted. :-(

Does anyone know if those can be ordered from GM prepainted or will I have to pay someone to paint the casing received from GM?

Did the same thing... it comes painted IIRC but you have to buy the whole mirror assembly.

Good news is I believe it was only like $150.

Looks like they're one size fits all from the parts website. See if you can't have it shipped to your dealer and have them install it (matching colors).

EDIT: I'm looking at it now on the site... looks like $100 or so if you purchase all of the parts associated with the mirror (just the assembly is $55.11). I see no mention of colors. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/catalog/frameset.cfm

Something tells me this won't be the last time I do this. Maybe I'll order 2 of them ;-)

By the way, what does IIRC mean?

I wouldn't pay anyone to install the mirror. It's too easy to do yourself.

I could have sworn my body guy said it was painted when he got it. Maybe they don't sell them painted anymore... hmm strange.

A lot of manufacturers sell painted parts for the first few months of a new model... something to do with insurance costs, possible transit damage, etc... then it becomes a inventory nightmare.
