Civic si or camaro
Deciding whether to get a 9th gen civic si or a 5th gen camaro. I want to learn more about both cars. I’m on a 10 k budget but want something fast, reliable, and fun. Any tips on what I should do?

$10k isn't gonna buy you a nice SS you're looking at a V6 for that. In that case i might consider the civic but the camaro is a much better looking car as pretty much anyone on this forum will tell you since we call own camaros lol. You could get a high mileage SS or one beat up a bit for 10k.

Camaro vs civic is so apples to oranges...
For 10k I'm not sure what kind of Camaro you're looking at, but that V8 is so satisfying. But, if you care about full economy, then maybe not. What are you looking for exactly? Just a fun car or a daily driver? Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

Youre gonna be 15k-20k for a 5th gen ss. As was already said, you would be looking at a v6. I would still go camaro, 300ish hp on the v6 and the best looking camaro body that has been made to date imo

Well this is an interesting first post. Welcome to the forums. Asking on a Camaro forum, you're likely to get everyone saying Camaro. Now with some of the comments so far, they're right. You're not likely to get into a "nice" SS for $10k, but a good V6 is definitely not out of the question.
The question does come down to application. You mentioned "fast, fun, and reliable". The V6 Camaro is reasonably fast, definitely fun, and overall reliable. There have been some people who have experienced issues with timing chains on early 5th gen V6 cars especially, but not all have and those that had it repaired more often than not never had to worry about it again. If you're looking to modify for performance I would imagine the Civic has a much better aftermarket scene as the V6 Camaro is somewhat limited since most people who wanted to modify for performance went with a V8. Cosmetics are available all day long on a 5th gen as many parts are interchangeable between V6 and V8. I have very limited knowledge about the Civic community as the last one I drove was a 90's hatchback 5 speed with 5 people in it and zero oil apparently (dumb chick didn't know you were supposed to do oil changes) and my personal preference is to buy from American manufacturers. Do your research and think about if you want front wheel drive or rear wheel as this can make a big difference in your decision, and pull the trigger on the car you want more.

Since you already drive a Civic, I'd get the si.
