Electrification was already being thrown around during 6th gen development, so it's not surprising. I'd bet good money 7th gen will have some sort of hybrid system.

This is not surprising, at least to me. Based on several articles I've read, sales trends of US vehicles over the past few decades and other 'rumors', hers my predictions for Chevy by 2020 or shortly thereafter. 1) They will discontinue manufacturing all cars with the exception of the Camaro and Corvette. 2) The Corvette will become a mid-engine sports car (they may even offer a hybrid version). 3) Several versions of the Camaro will be offered, to include hybrids. 4) There primary focus will be on multiple sized trucks, SUCs and CUVs; each of which will also be offered with a variety of drive trains.

A hybrid V8 at the very least has serious performance potential

Stephen Hawking predicted the earth will be a giant fireball with all this grid shit. Also stated we needed to leave earth within 100yrs.

But electric cars are inevitable. They’re faster than any gasoline engine. More torque so it’s only necessary to go that route. Just have the audio in the vehicle give you the engine sound. Lol

Me? I’ll die with gasoline engines. An electric camaro will probably cost about $70-80k. Anything cheap with electric cars will be fugly. Bank on that. Want a car to look good? You’re gonna pay. Just like now a days.

Just let Camaro die if this is its future. Come up with some other nameplate and brand that sports car with hybrid or electric motors. Half of the fun of a Camaro is hearing it roar.

i hope word doesn't leak out that the Camaro doesn't have a carburetor , drum brakes and 15 inch wheels anymore. could be some suicides with all this futuristic change

The outgoing K2XX Silverado/Sierra had a hybrid powertrain that cost less than some of the running board options for the truck and had no visual design differences from their normal ICE counterparts besides a small badge.

Sorry, but I will be the odd one... Sign me up for those Electric Camaros... I will take that (0-60 miles) in 1.5 sec at 1/4 J any time. I will just need a V8 Rumble sound synchronized to the engine rpms.. haha
